It's fruit contains large quantities of ascorbic acid f (vitamin C), 445 mg/100g,. Amla is a powerful antioxidant due to the tanins and other polyphenol it containts.
Amla powder is known in ayurveda for it's vital role in cell rejuvenation. Amla strengthens collagen, making it a very effective treatment for mature skins. It prevents the appearance of facial lines and dark spots which often appear with age.
Amalaki is also one of the 3 ingredients of Triphala, a digestive tonic which helps those suffering from any kind of digestive imbalance.
How to take Amla: 1/2 a teaspoon dissolved in hot water, to be taken first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. Take daily for 90 days and then rest for 1 month before taking again.
